In 2000, the Bioinformatics Computational Core Laboratories (BCCL) was inaugurated under the umbrella of the CSBC to accommodate the need for bioinformatics support of VCU’s biomedical and life science research community.
The mission of the BCCL is to provide bioinformatics research and development support for all VCU investigators.
BCCL members teach multiple core undergraduate and graduate bioinformatics courses in B.S and Master’s Bioinformatics program.
BCCL members provide well-established various NGS analysis services with well-documented results, visualization and intuitive data sharing.
BCCL members are core part of NIH/NSF funded research projects and have developed new and innovative bioinformatics software to solve unique problems of large and complex biomedical and translational research datasets.
